Henry Taylor Palm Gouges

One of the oldest and most respected chisel manufacturers, Henry Taylor offers a vast array of different gouges. We offer a variety of palm handle gouges that meets most carving needs. They are fitted with flat-sided, palm-shaped, self-sealed handles approximately 1 1/4 inch in diameter. The overall tool length is approximately 5 inches. We have found that most Henry Taylor Palm gouges are supplied in widths slightly larger than specified. Curved (Bent) gouges are suitable for most types of relief carving.

Knives and tools sold at Stadtlander Woodcarvings can have either a Factory Edge or an Extra Sharp edge. The factory does their best to provide a sharp edge but inevitably this is a mass production effort. An Extra Sharp edge is a special operation provided by Stadtlander Woodcarvings whereby an experienced woodcarver sharpens the tool to produce what we consider a better edge.
