This Steinfass (stone holder) is a traditional tool used by farmers to hold the whetstone used to sharpen their scythes. Our version has been modified to hang on the wall and display a selection of dried (or artificial) flowers. It is locally made from select northern basswood and is 12 ½” tall, 2 ¾” wide at the flat area at top, and has a 2 1/8” x 4 ¾” deep opening in the top.
