In 2009, Stryi started production, making them the first Ukrainian
manufacturer of high-grade well-made carving tools.
Stryi is named after the town in which it is located — the picturesque
city of Stryi in western Ukraine, near the Carpathian mountains. They are familiar with wood carving which is
